Moira Ragen
found her love of dance at the age of four
when she saw Riverdance on television. At age five, she
began dance lessons and started competing as an Irish
dancer in the Washington, DC area. As a teenager, Ragen
competed in international events, including the World
Championships in Ireland, England and Scotland. During
high school Ragen discovered her love for other dance
styles and she enrolled in the Fairfax Academy program
where she studied ballet, modern, jazz and other cultural
dance genres. Ragen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance
with K-12 Virginia Dance Teacher Licensure from James
Madison University. She taught in Fairfax County Public
Schools for several years and wrote curricula. Ragen has
continued to develop her career performing and touring
with Celtic Illusion, Rockin Road to Dublin, Dublin Irish
Dance Company, Ragland Road, Irish Dance Theatre and
Dance Art Theater.
